At the End of the Tunnel is the first in a new body of work by Ian Johnston called Fine Line. The overall project explores the thin edge between normal and abnormal obsessive compulsive behaviours. This piece about serial collecting presents the repeated collapse of a wall of newspaper from six different points of view on ten monitors over the course of a 200-foot-long ramp. Each randomly timed collapse is accompanied by sound sample collected from the area around Dawson Creek, BC where the work was created.
